Aloha friends, I’m Mike—a 49-year-old husband, father, and retired restaurant owner based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
A few years ago, I took a leap, walked away from my career, and followed a lifelong passion for sailing. I earned my captain’s license and soon found myself working aboard a million-dollar catamaran. Not long after, I discovered my dream boat… or maybe she found me.
Today, I’m the proud steward of the legendary trimaran Free Spirit.
My goal is simple: to share this boat with like-minded people and create unforgettable experiences on the water.
This isn’t your typical yacht charter. It’s a unique liveaboard experience in the heart of Honolulu—sail during the day, return to harbor each evening, and enjoy plenty of time to eat well, explore, and take in island life.
It’s organic, real, and a bit old-school. Some days we sail all day. Other days it’s slow mornings with coffee, stand-up paddling, and talking story. The ocean and the weather set the tone—we go with the flow.
And while we might enjoy a beer or two, this isn’t a party boat. If you’re looking for a booze cruise, there are plenty of great options out there—but this is something different.
Free Spirit is about quality of life. It’s about appreciating each day and sharing it with the right people.
We keep it intimate—just five guests, plus myself and one crew member—so every experience feels personal.
If this speaks to you, let’s connect and see if it’s a good fit. No pressure—just good vibes.
