My name is Mike, I’m a 49 year old husband, father, and retired restaurant owner in Honolulu, Hawaii. A few years ago, I took a huge risk, and quit my career to follow my lifelong sailing passion. I earned my captain license and, along the way, I became the steward of the legendary trimaran Free Spirit.
My goal is to preserve and share this boat by offering unforgettable experiences aboard. Our "Weekend Afloat" is 3 days and 2 nights aboard that bridge the gap bewtween dreaming and doing.
It's the absolute easiest way to jump on a boat and live the dream with easy U.S. travel, airport pickup, all inclusive food onboard, and even all the toys like snorkels, kayaks, and paddle boards included.
This is not your typical yacht charter. It’s a unique live-aboard experience with daily sailing and return to anchor in our home lagoon nightly with plenty of time for activities, eating, and exploring...or just relaxing on the boat...it's up to you!
Honestly, our goal isn’t to run a big charter company. It’s to sail and preserve Free Spirit — and to share the boat with good people.
It’s organic, real, old-school. Some days it’s sailing all day, some days it’s coffee, stand up paddling, and talking story. The weather and conditions make the call for the day’s adventures. It also up to you how involved you want to be with sailing, you can be full hands-on or just relax and enjoy the ride.
Free Spirit is about quality of life and the right people make the experience special. It’s a maximum of 4 guests onboard plus me and a first mate. If this resonates with you, let’s talk and see if it’s a good fit.
